WRFG Labor Forum Program on Monday, May 18, 4-5pm
The Labor Forum on May 18, 4-5pm on WRFG 89.3FM will get a preview of the Atlanta “Fight for $15 and a Union” campaign’s trip to the McDonald’s stockholders meeting in Chicago . Fast-food and low-wage workers and their supporters from across the country will take their demands for economic and social justice to the corporate owners of McDonald’s, the world’s largest fast-food chain.
At 4:30pm, William Flanagan, president of Local 32 of the American Postal Workers Union will discuss the critical contract negotiations going on between postal management and APWU. The massive lay-offs, closing of distribution centers and neighborhood post offices over the last several years has reduced necessary services to the public and brought economic hardship to thousands of workers, their families and communities. Postal workers are fighting privatization and union-busting schemes and deserve the support of all workers.
Please tune in on Monday, May 18. For more information about the Labor Forum, see www.wrfglaborforum.org
