On June 29, The Labor Forum speaks with Donna DeWitt, former South Carolina state AFL-CIO president and Leonard Riley, International Longshoremen’s Association #1422 and Charleston community activist about the national implication of the Emanuel AME massacre for the struggle against racism and white supremacy and for workers’ rights. We will ask: How will the removal of the Confederate flag and other symbols of the Confederacy impact economic and social justice issues such as collective bargaining rights, living wages, voting rights, police brutality, mass incarceration and so many other critical matters to working people? What is the task of the organized labor movement now? and other questions about the progressive history of SC and today’s movements for social change.
The Labor Forum airs from4-5pm every Monday on WRFG 89.3FM in Atlanta and on the worldwide web at www.wrfg.org For additional information, see wrfglaborforum.org
