WRFG Labor Forum Program on Monday, August 3, 2015

The Labor Forum on WRFG 89.3FM welcomes Pureterrah Witcher, an organizer of the Black Women’s Equal Pay Day event that was held at the Capitol on Tuesday, July 28. During the 4:15-4:30pm segment, she will discuss the significance of that date and address the wage discrimination impacting women of color.

From 4:30-5pm, Communication Workers of America Local 3204 President, Ed Barlow will update the WRFG audience on contract negotiations with AT&T and preparations for a job action beginning at midnight, Aug. 8. The contract will cover thousands of workers in the southeastern states who are fighting to secure living wages and benefits, safe working conditions and an end to outsourcing their work.
The Labor Forum airs from 4-5pm with co-hosts retired UAW member, Dianne Mathiowetz and ATU retiree, Paul McLennan on 89.3FM, www.wrfg.org, as well as on the station’s mobile app. The program can also be viewed on The Labor Forum YouTube channel. Co-host Tamieka Atkins, Domestic Workers Alliance, is on maternity leave and will return later this year.
