WRFG Labor Forum for Monday, Jan 25
On Monday, Jan. 25, The Labor Forum on WRFG 89.3FM speaks with activists who participated in the four day encampment in front of the DeKalb County Courthouse in advance of the grand jury hearing on the killing of Anthony Hill by police officer, Robert Olsen.In a decision notable for its rarity, the grand jury returned indictments of felony murder, aggravated assault, violation of oath of office and making false statements.
In the 4:30-5pm segment of the program, listeners will hear about the refusal of Four Seasons Environmental, contracted to do maintenance at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, to recognize the successful union election by its employees and to bargain in good faith. International Union of Operating Engineers Local 926 members will be in the studio to talk about the low wages and unfair labor practices that plague the workers who maintain the equipment and grounds at the federal facility.
