Labor Forum Program on Monday, Feb 22, 2016
The Labor Forum on WRFG 89.3FM interviews education advocates, Allie McCullen of RiseUp and a Price HS parent on Monday, Feb. 22
about the so-called”turn around” plan being proposed by the Atlanta Public School Superintendant and others to close and/or privatize
several neighborhood schools. They will discuss why they object to this proposal and offer some alternative solutions. This important
discussion about how to achieve quality education for all Atlanta students will take place from 4:15-4:30.
At 4:30, members of the Turner Field Benefits Coalition, Alison Johnson and Jason Dozier, will outline the platform for development of the area
that will be presented to Georgia State University and its partner, Carter, a real estate development company. For decades, the neighborhoods
surrounding the current Braves stadium have seen their communities devastated by outside interests that have not taken into account the needs
and wishes of the residents. The Labor Forum audience will hear why the neighborhoods are organizing to change that scenario this time.
The Labor Forum airs every Monday from 4-5pm on 89.3FM in Atlanta.Additional information is available at http://www.wrfglaborforum.org Please like us on Facebook, join us on Twitter, and subscribe to the Labor Forum YouTube channel.
