WRFG Labor Forum program on Monday, Sept.26
he Monday, Sept. 26 Labor Forum program will devote some additional time to talk about an issue of crisis importance to tens of thousands of Atlantans and that is the dire lack of affordable housing in metro Atlanta.
Whether it is people looking for rental property, others trying to buy a home or those without shelter, forced to live in cars, abandoned buildings or on the street, there is simply a huge shortage of decent, liveable housing for working people, retirees and those with disabilities.
And it grows worse everyday, with gentrification of inner city neighborhood where luxury housing brings big profits to developers.
The Labor Forum will speak with Housing Justice League activists and Anita Beaty of the Task Force for the Homeless to get a more detailed picture of the problem, the solutions and the actions being taken to make Housing a Human Right.
The program will open at 4pm with a recap of the resistance to police violence in Charlotte being led and sustained by young people.
The Labor Forum airs every Monday from 4-5pm on WRFG 89.3FM.
