WRFG Labor Forum Program on Monday, Oct, 24
The Labor Forum on WRFG 89.3FM, 4-5pm, invites you to tune in on Monday, Oct. 24 as we introduce the new director of the Atlanta chapter of the Domestic Workers Alliance, Jacklyn Izsraael to our audience. From 4:15 to 4:30, we will discuss the organization’s plans to gain a living wage and benefits for household workers such as nannies, housekeepers and caregivers.
As promised, this week the Labor Forum will hear from two of the US delegates who attended the recent World Federation of Trade Unions conference in Durban, South Africa, Martha Grevatt, Chrysler worker and UAW member and Johnnie Stevens with Community-Labor United for Postal Jobs and Services. Among other questions, we will ask what ideas or lessons did they learn from the struggles of other workers who attended this conference that will aid their own work in the US?
The fall pledge drive to sustain WRFG 89.3FM begins on Monday, Oct. 24 and goes until Nov. 13.
