To close out the month and begin the second week of the Fall fund drive at WRFG, The Labor Forum interviews Ajamu Baraka, human rights and anti-imperialist activist whose resume includes being a former director of the US Human Rights Network and is currently a vice-presidential candidate on the Green Party ticket.
Our far-reaching discussion with Ajamu will begin at 4:15 with his analysis of the struggle at Standing Rock and whether the connections between indigenous rights, militarized police repression and environmental safety and sustainability can define a powerful movement for fundamental change.
We also will ask him about the widening role of US military forces and weaponry in multiple war zones and how that impacts domestic politics. What effect does the enormous Pentagon budget have on the Fight for $15, as well as the crises in education and healthcare?
The Labor Forum airs every Monday from 4-5 on WRFG 89.3FM; is streamed at http://www.wrfg.org and is available on the WRFG APP. The Labor Forum videos its program live on our YouTube channel.
