On Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, The Labor Forum on WRFG 89.3FM welcomes Traci Drummond to the studio to talk about the resources available at the Southern Labor Archives housed at Georgia State University. From photos to organizational documents to oral and video accounts of worker struggles, the Archives offer evidence of the decades-long resistance by organized communities in the Souith to low-wages, brutal working conditions, discrimination and exploitation. Traci will be sharing information about this wealth of material from 4:15 to 4:30pm.
At 4:30. APWU #404 President, William Flanagan will be in the studio to share the good news of the removal of US postal services from Staples stores.
This is a big victory against the attempts by the Postal management to outsource and privatize post offices by placing them in Staples stores, staffed with low-wage Staples employees.
We will discuss the multi-year campaign to beat back this anti-union move and its significance to the overall movement of workers for economic justice.
The Labor Forum airs every Monday on WRFG 89.3FM from 4-5pm. For additional information, please go the our website at http://www.wrfglaborforum.org
