Alan Luna from WYDO 104.1 in Nashville will bring us the latest on the launch of this community radio station, owned and run by low-wage workers. Initiated by Workers Dignity, an organization formed to fight for workers’ rights, in particular against wage theft among immigrant and low-wage workers, the group has successfully raised the money for a studio and equipment, received a low power license from the FCC and trained community members to produce, engineer and host a variety of music and public affairs From 4:15-4:30pm, The Labor Forum team will talk with Alan about their goal to move “from low power to people power.”
Last weekend, several hundred activists gathered in Richmond, Va. for the UNAC conference. Our two guests from 4:30-4:55pm. Ajamu Baraka, Black Alliance for Peace and Taryn Fivek, International Action Center, both were part of the program. The Labor Forum considers the struggle against imperialist war and intervention.a key part of winning workers’ rights and power. We will ask our guests about the conference discussion and any future action plans.
