The battle over the right to healthcare has gripped the country’s attention from from the halls of Congress to the streets of large cities and towns in rural areas. The debate goes beyond the provisions of the Affordable Care Act and “repeal” or “replace.”
On Monday, July 31, healthcare advocates and activists, Katie Johnson with Disability Link, Zan Thornton with ADAPT and Rita Valenti from Nurses United will join The Labor Forum team in a discussion of an issue that impacts every worker, every poor person. They will provide first-hand experience of the mass actions and arrests in DC to the lobbying of Georgia elected officials.
Their organizations have been on the front line of educating, organizing and mobilizing communities to struggle for quality, accessible health care for all.
In this last week of WRFG’s summer fund drive, they will also advocate for community support to ensure the financial health of Atlanta’s only progressive, community radio station where 100,000 watts of broadcast power brings the voices and actions of those making a difference, bettering our common conditions.
All listeners and supporters of independent, community radio are encouraged to make YOUR contribution to WRFG NOW by calling 404.523.8989, going online at wrfg.org or using the station’s app to keep WRFG healthy.
