WRFG Labor Forum program on Monday, August 28
As The Labor Forum closes out Black August with a recounting of many more historic dates in the people’s struggle for liberation and against racism, repression and white supremacy, we will hear from members of UNITE HERE about the need for Atlanta to require a retention policy for workers when approving new contracts for airport restaurant, retail and service bids. This interview will be from 4:15-4:30pm.
At 4:30, UE 150 organizer, Dante Strobino will call in to discuss the anti-racist mobilizing work being done in Durham, NC and the connection to the fight for union recognition for public service as well as farm workers in NC. Strobino is one of the nine people arrested following the Aug. 14 toppling of the confederate statue in that city.
The Labor Forum brings news and analysis of issues affecting working and poor people in Georgia, the US and the world every Monday from 4-5pm on WRFG 89.3FM.
Guests interviewed on The Labor Forum are union members, low-wage workers, community members, students and youth fighting for their rights on the job, in their neighborhoods and schools, and in prisons and detention centers.
