HUMAN CRISIS IN PUERTO RICO
After our opening segments on The Labor Forum bringing listeners Labor News and History, the March 26 program will discuss the ongoing human crisis that persists in Puerto Rico, more than six months after the island was devastated by back to back hurricanes.
Tens of thousands of Puerto Rican homes remain without electricity, many workers are unemployed, roads and public services remain inaccessible in rural areas.
Privatization and austerity are the dominant governmental responses to the people’s suffering.
Marnie Bell-Ferguson, a volunteer organizer with Puerto Rico Love, an organization that has been engaged in providing supplies and other solidarity to the people, will provide an update on how communities here and in Puerto Rico are dealing with the situation.
The Labor Forum airs every Monday from 4-5pm on WRFG 89.3FM.
Our thanks and appreciation for all those who pledged their financial support during the Spring Drive. Your donations are always welcome any time of the year!!
