WRFG Labor Forum on Monday, May 14

On today’s program, The Labor Forum audience will hear from local union leaders about issues concerning their members and the wider Atlanta community.

First at 4:15-4:30, NALC President Eric Sloan will address the continuing attacks on the US Postal Service, particularly the letter carriers he represents. Many neighborhoods see their postal worker delivering mail after 8pm and wonder what is going on. We’ll ask what impact the increased delivery of packages has on the mail carrier’s route and physical health.
Communication Workers of America Local 3204 is one of the most supportive labor unions of progressive activism in Atlanta. VP Tony Barlow will provide an update on AT&T negotiations and other related issues. The importance all sectors of society having accessible, affordable and open forms of communication becomes clearer as fewer corporations dominate the entire spectrum of the industry. Tune in to hear the perspective of the workers who make it possible.
